For our men’s entries we had a youth single (Wyatt Dent), youth double (Daniil Gurenkov, Daniel Grasman), and youth coxed quad (Henry Slinger, Maddock Flynn, Zander Perlroth, Ben Adelman, cox Phoebe Nagy). The women’s entries included two Youth singles (Olivia Petri and Jiwoo Oh), a youth double (Aanya Naveen, Taj deLaet-Jagerson), and a youth coxed quad (Sofie Tafoya, Vivi Sun, Ilaria Costello, Dorin Flynn, cox Kassidy Avila). After a rainy Saturday, the weather somewhat improved for the final day of the racing for the Redwood Athletes. 2022

2022 Henley Royal Regatta- Diamond Jubilee Cup

The Redwood girls went into England and took on the best scullers in the country. For 10 days they trained on the Thames as they awaited their first-round match. Caroline, Meena, Georgia and Lila took down each English crew – Hartspury, Tideway Scullers, Wycliffe and made it to the grand finals. The sheer determination it took for these girls to race 2112 meters, side by side through some of the worst water, and get themselves into the Finals at Henley Royal Regatta. Most firstcomers never make it past the second round. We had alumni Itai Almogy (Yale) and Andrew Macmillen (Tufts) on the shoreline cheering for us. In the finals, Redwood came out strong off the start but the women from Claire’s Court Boat Club had that last gear in the last 200 meters. Final - Claire’s court beat Redwood by 2/3 length in 7:35.
